Mend it Monday
We all have a pile of clothes that we love but are gathering dust in the wardrobe because they need altered or mended. Easter and spring in general is all about renewal, so give your wardrobe a spring clean.
You will learn the skills needed to darn holes, take up hems and make adjustments to improve fit. It is recommended you have basic sewing skills for these sessions but it is not essential.
What is included:
- All haberdashery needed for your mending/refashioning
- Expert tuition and hopefully a bit of fun!
- Treats will be on hand to fuel the sewing!
Kids Easter Egg Hunt Bags
What’s better than an Easter Egg hunt? An easter Egg hunt with a bag sewn by you!
In this two hour class you will learn how to make your own, personalised Easter bag, big enough for all those lovely eggs you will be finding!
What it includes:
- All materials and fabrics needed for an Easter bag and other Easter crafts
- Drinks and refreshments for kids and adults
- Expert tuition and hopefully a bit of fun!
- A Eater treat for their Easter bags!
This session is suitable for beginners and instruction on how to use a sewing machine will be given in the group.
Intro to Dressmaking
Make Good Friday a fabulous Friday with this intro to dressmaking course.
In this course you will be able to sew up your own pyjama bottoms – perfect for relaxing in with your Easter Chocolate over the weekend.
In the morning you will learn the basics of measuring yourself, adjusting patterns to suit your size and pattern cutting.
In the afternoon you will be sewing up your pyjamas, using the Make it Fab sewing machines. For more experienced sewists you will have the chance to have a go at finishing your seams with an overlocker for am even more professional look.
What it includes:
- A beginners dressmaking kit which includes a Tilly and the Buttons Jamie pattern and 2.5m of fabric – worth over Ā£45.
- Lunch in the studio with sandwiches, fruit and a little Easter treat
- Expert tuition and hopefully a bit of fun!
This course is suitable for people will basic sewing skills. If you would like to join the course but have not done an introduction to sewing, let me know and we can organise an introduction to the machines. Suitable for ages 13+
